Mendix low-code developmentTransform the cost of software with low code.

Mendix is a low-code platform built for collaboration, so organizations can turn business ideas into working software quickly and keep improving it. We help you get there without the usual mess.

Accelerate innovation & automation

Five reasons to make the switch.

Switching development to a low-code platform can offer real advantages. These are the ones our clients feel first.

  1. 1

    Increase development speed

Visual models, reusable components and one-click deployment turn months of hand-coding into weeks.

  2. 2

    Reduce costs

Teams ship more with less, and the platform handles hosting, scaling and upgrades you'd otherwise pay to build.

  3. 3

    Enhance collaboration

Business owners and engineers work in the same model, so requirements stop getting lost in translation.

  4. 4

    Increase flexibility & adaptability

Change a workflow in an afternoon when the business changes, not in the next budget cycle.

  5. 5

    Improve governance & compliance

One platform with central security, roles and audit trails instead of dozens of unmanaged tools.

Shadow systems

They're in almost every department.

Small desktop applications give department heads the functionality they need, and create tremendous problems for data security.

Why do they exist? When enterprise applications don't meet a department's needs, smart people find a way to get the job done. The result is a pile of Excel and Access tools that duplicate data across the enterprise, outside of Security or IT control.

Mendix lets us move those shadow systems onto one common platform with central control and real security, while department leaders keep their independence. Finally, sanity and harmony for department-level needs and cyber security.

One platformSingle sign-on · roles · audit trail · one copy of the data
  • IT can see and secure it
  • Departments still own their workflows

Bringing AI to low code

Machine learning inside the app, not in a separate science project.

Mendix includes machine-learning toolkits that run models directly in the platform's runtime. Pre-trained models, like those in the ONNX Model Zoo, can be adapted to your own data and dropped into a low-code application, with the same security and roles as everything else.

  • Reuse across apps: build a model once, use it everywhere
  • Your data stays on your platform
  • Generative AI assistants for the people who use the app every day

Questions

Mendix questions, answered.

What is Mendix?

Mendix is an enterprise low-code platform, owned by Siemens, for building web and mobile applications with visual models instead of hand-written code. Business owners and engineers work in the same model, and the platform handles hosting, security, scaling and upgrades.

Is low code only for simple apps?

No. Mendix runs core business systems: quality and maintenance tracking, financial workflows, lab and compliance tools, production scheduling and customer portals. Where a feature needs custom code, Mendix allows Java and JavaScript extensions, and we build those too.

What are shadow systems, and why replace them?

Shadow systems are the Excel workbooks, Access databases and desktop tools departments build when enterprise software doesn't fit their work. They copy data outside IT's control. Moving them onto Mendix gives each department its own app with single sign-on, roles, audit trails and one copy of the data.

Can you add AI to an existing Mendix app?

Yes. Mendix's machine-learning toolkit runs ONNX models directly in the app's runtime, and generative AI can be connected for assistants, document processing and search. We add these to existing apps as well as new ones, with the same security and roles as the rest of the app.

Do you work with teams outside Modesto?

Yes. Our engineers are based in Modesto, California, and we work with clients across the United States, on-site when it helps and remotely the rest of the time.
